Opportunities for Investors
We’ve been closely monitoring the latest research and the opinions of industry experts during this time and some particularly insightful data has been provided recently in these reports by property agencies Savills and Rettie & Co.
The generally accepted opinion is that we should expect a short-term drop in property values of anywhere between 1% – 10% before a return to growing capital values in the years ahead.
The indications are that we’ll see this short-term reduction in values in the six months or so after lockdown restrictions are lifted and this is being tipped as an opportune time for property investors.
It’s important to note that although prices may be lower during this time there will also be less properties coming on to the market as only those who need to sell will be doing so. For this reason it’s all the more crucial to speak with the relevant industry professionals ahead of any investment to ensure you’re primed to invest should the right opportunity present itself.
